Sorry not to have written for so long. I have been reading each day but have been visiting my family so have not blogged during that time. I will now begin trying to catch up!
The book of Galatians has done a lot to restore my connection with Paul’s writings, as have the comments of my father-in-law. Paul talks here about the importance of focussing not on the law and its requirements, or on being good (although of course that is a fruit of the Spirit) but on Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s law.
We are not saved by our own goodness (although that comes with belief) but by clinging to our Lord Jesus. Then once we are baptised, we will be filled with the Spirit, and goodness will come. But we must continually keep focussing on God and Jesus, and praying and reading our Bibles.
Dear Father God, Thank You for our travels. Thank You for the love of our family, thank You that we have our family and our friends. Thank You for all the time we got to talk to them, learn from them and help them. Thank You for bringing us home safely. Please deliver us safely through the difficulties of jetlag and help us to refocus on our duties to our church family and friends here. Please watch over my dad, please heal him and strengthen him. Please watch over M, who is comforting him. Please also be with N and M, and give them strength and comfort in a challenging time. Please also be with my children, who are missing their family now. Please help them rebuild their friendships here. Please help me with my faith Father. I believe. Help me believe more. In the name of Jesus, my beloved Saviour. Amen
