Isaiah’s visions are pretty horrific. One of them in chapter three reminded me of pictures I have seen of the Holocaust.
But in Chapter 6 he tells of when he saw the Lord sitting on a throne.
“Woe is me,” says Isaiah, “I am undone for I have seen the King, the Lord of Hosts.”
A seraphim touches him with a coal and says Isaiah he is cleansed, so he is not cursed.
Then the voice of the Lord said: “Whom shall I send?” And Isaiah said “I will, send me.”
But God didn’t ask him until Isaiah had confessed, and been cleansed.
Dear God, I am so unworthy of You. I feel this every minute of every day. Please forgive me for all my sins and faults, and please help me forgive myself. Please help me forgive the one other person I most need to forgive today. You know who it is and I know I cannot do this without You, my heavenly Father, without remembering and knowing that You love me so much that You sent Your only Son to die for me, to save me from being cut off from You. In the name of my beloved Saviour, Jesus Christ my Lord, Amen.
