Solomon completes the temple, and asks God to continue blessing the people. God says he will – but only if they continue to worship him and obey. Otherwise, he says, the glorious temple will be destroyed.

Psalm 37 is a fabulous psalm… with lots of poetry for living….

“Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of hte man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; do not fret – it only causes harm.

“For evildoers shall be cut off; but those who wait on the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.”

And further on: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, and he delights in his way.

Though he fall, he shall not  be utterly cast down; for the Lord upholds him with His hand.

I have been young and now am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his descendants begging bread. He is ever merciful and lends; and his descendants are blessed.”

Dear God, Please help me to wait on you patiently, and with joy, and walk in your ways enjoying all the scents and pleasures, as well as enduring when you ask me. Please watch over my family, heal my brother and help A find new joy in his life. In Jesus’ name, Amen
