Judges starts off by describing how the Israelites allowed other peoples to live amongst them – and how it indeed proved the major thorn in their side.

The pattern of disobedience and punishment, followed by calling to God for forgiveness, begins. It is rather a depressing story.

Psalm 6 begs for God to return and deliver his servant. “Have mercy on me O Lord, for I am weak; O lord heal me, for my bones are weary,”

Dear God, Thank you for the Psalms, which express my feelings way better than I can. Please deliver your tired and hurting world. Please forgive our sins in the name of Jesus, who has been the one, forever sacrifice for our sins, In Jesus’ name, Amen
