Jesus prepares to send out his disciples to preach, heal, bring the dead back to life, heal those suffering dreaded skin diseases and drive out demons.
He tells them life will be hard, they will be persecuted – maybe by members of their own family – but he ends with my favorite verse:
“Come to me, all you who are tired from carrying heavy loads and I will give you rest. Take my yoke and put it on you, and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in spirit; and you will find rest. For the yoke I will give you is easy and the load I will put on you is light.”
Dear Father, Thank you for your word. Thank you for Jesus. Thank you that we can come to him and give him our worries and our cares. I can never be worthy of this amazing gift, and I thank you most of all for the grace you show me in letting me come to you anyway, In Jesus’ name, Amen
