Isaiah veers between prophesying darkness and doom – and then prophesying the coming of the Hope, the Saviour, the rod of Jesse….

I read two levels into this – the destruction of those times, then the coming of Jesus, and then again the destruction of our times – and the coming again of Jesus.

I await and hope for when He comes back, to establish the kingdom Isaiah promises, where: “the wolf also shall dwell with teh lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat…. and a young child shall lead them.

“The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole… and they shall not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”

Dear God, Thank You for fulfilling Your promise to send Jesus, upon whom the Spirit of wisdom, of understanding and righteousness rests and who has died for us so we can be Your children and You can forgive us. Please help us to live in Jesus’ footsteps until the time when You send Him back to us to create Your glorious kingdom on earth. In Jesus’ name, Amen
