In the first chapters, the King of all the land from India to Ethiopia holds a celebration and calls for his Queen, Vashti. When she refuses to come, she loses her royal title and a new queen is sought.<\/p>\n
Esther is among the hopeful virgins who are put into the women’s quarters, where they prepare for a year to meet the King. Esther wins the crown.<\/p>\n
Psalm 78 is a recapping of the history of Israel, and how its faith rises and falls. It talks about the Israelites, how when they had God in their midst in the desert, all they wanted of him was food of their choosing:<\/p>\n
“Therefore their days He consumed in futility, and their years in fear….”<\/p>\n
Dear God, Please help me always to seek You, not Your gifts, but You, for Yourself. Please help me follow your paths gratefully and without demands so that my days may be consumed in useful service to You. My Father, my God, please show me how to handle the various people who come to me, supposedly to teach me about You. Help me to discern Your Holy Spirit when it is present. Help me to welcome Your people, and show my children Your paths. Please watch over P. His day of operation is getting close. Please work through the hands of all those medical people who are working on him. Thank You for C, and her healing group. Please bless it with Your Holy Spirit.
