David is still on the run in the desert. While he is there he looks after the flock of a greedy man called Nabal. In return, he asks for some food and drink for his men. Nabal refuses, so David prepares to go to kill him and his household.<\/p>\n

But Nabal’s fair and clever wife Abigail hears of this, and assembles some food and drink to take to David personally, begging for his forgiveness for a rudeness she blames herself for.<\/p>\n

So her husband and his house are saved – but God strikes down Nabal ten days later and David asks Abigail to marry him. She does.<\/p>\n

There are more stories of David’s adventures on the run.<\/p>\n

Psalm 20 also has one of my favorite lines: “Some trust in chariots, and some in horses, but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen, but we have risen and stand upright.”<\/p>\n

Dear God, Thank you for the beautiful weather we have today, and the travelling we did on the weekend. Thank you for my sister. Please bless her life.
