I’ve just realised I’ve only read half of today’s reading. My excuse is it has been a massive day, and also just the one chapter I’ve read is packed with loads of things. I will read the rest later and incorporate it into tomorrow’s OT* blog.<\/p>\n

So Jesus mentions the importance of kindness again today, which I’ve not noticed as much in my readings in the past. However, after the strong OT doses of law and punishment, these words are a huge relief. I’ve fallen on them like a man at a well after forty days in the desert….<\/p>\n

jesus says, to clarify to the Pharisees who are lecturing him for helping a man on the Sabbath, that kindness is more important than animal sacrifices when it comes to pleasing God. Thank you God for that, as you know I’ve been feeling like I’ve been trying to follow a different God after reading just the OT. That is why I have started alternating with the New Testament.<\/p>\n

Kindness is one of the fruits of the spirit. In God’s terms, it is showing that we are a good tree.<\/p>\n

The other major lesson for me from today’s half reading was that Jesus said to be careful of our words – we will be judged by them on judgement day.<\/p>\n

Thank you God for today’s lesson that kindness is one of the most important ways of pleasing you. Please help me to be kind. Please help me to be loving, even when it is hard. Please forgive me for the recent examples when I have not been loving. Thank you for giving me daily chances to improve. Thank you for my family, my children, my husband, my health, my faith….. Thank you for today’s glorious sunshine. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you again. You are magnificent. In Jesus’ name, Amen<\/p>\n
