Paul remains under arrest in Caesarea, with no-one game to make a decision whether to let him go – or kill him.
The Jewish leaders come to try to have the Roman governor condemn him, but the governor is too frightened of Paul’s status as a citizen to condemn him.
Eventually a new governor is brought in and the Jewish leaders try again to have Paul condemned. When the governor says he will send Paul to Jerusalem for trial, Paul calls for a decision from Caesar himself.
Then King Agrippa (is he a Jewish king, he knows all the Torah) comes through Caesarea with his retinue, hears his case and says Paul really should be let go – but too bad he’s already appealed to Caesar. So still Paul languishes in prison.
Psalm 100 is beautiful, the above headline comes from it. It is a little recipe on how to come before God _ give thanks, praise Him and thanks again! Finally, bless His name. Of course there is always the quick way – take your prayers to God via Jesus, asking forgiveness in His name.
“For the Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth endures to all generations.”
Dear God, Thank You for a successful playgroup this morning. Thank You for being with me through all my strange panicky moments. Please be with our family this week, help us to come before You as we should. Thank You that P seems to be healing. Please continue to give him strength. Please continue to watch over my marriage, my Father, and help me teach my children Your ways. In Jesus’ name, Amen
