Having told us that all is folly, and that the wise does only as well as the fool, Ecclesiastes concludes that, even so, it is better to be in the hands of God: The righteous and the wise and their works are in the hand of God. People know neither love, nor hatred by anything they see before them.”

So after quite a few comments upon wisdom (good to have, but don’t rely on it) the Preacher says: “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is man’s all.”

Dear God, Overnight I was very stressed about all my little secret sins. Dear Father God, please forgive me and free me from this self-condemnation. Help me feel Your love so I can pass that on, instead of the anger that comes with self-condemnation. Please work in the hearts of Your people so we can all show love instead of judgment. May Your will be done, In Jesus’ name, Amen
