Two days worth again and we’re moving now from genealogy to war. It chronicles the number of warriors at the time when David is getting ready to take over the kingship of Israel.

These sections of the bible are hard to read for women – there is virtually no mention of us at all, or what the women did to build Israel. But the psalms are more comforting.

Psalm 56, for example, talks in a mother’s language about God’s sadness when we get lost and suffer: ‘You number my wanderings, put my tears into Your bottle; are they not in your book?”

I love the idea of God loving us so much he puts our tears into His bottle….

Dear God, Thank you for loving me. Help me love you properly back. You are amazing. Thank you for caring about my tears. I think of one amazing time when I was crying, and you sent help right away. Thank you for that. Thank you for my children and please help me to better care for their tears, and to be more patient and a better channel of your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen
