He reflects the brightness of God’s glory… sustaining the universe with his powerful word… Hebrews 1-4
The above verse is of course about Jesus, and Hebrews has some lovely summaries of faith…:
“Jesus purifies people from their sins, and both he and those who are made pure all have the same Father. Jesus became flesh and blood like us and shared our human nature. He did this so that through his death (and resurrection) he might destroy the Devil, who has the power over death and in this way set free those who were slaves all their lives because of their fear of death.”
Dear Father God, I ask You for the patience to wait for You. It is so tempting to run around trying to be a hero in the eyes of the world. Please give me the patience to wait for You, to sit still and know You are God, and to know that You have victory over all this death and sickness. Please look after my dad. Please help me be a good mother and to raise my children to know You. Forgive me all my sins, particularly forgive me when I fail the jobs You give me. Please increase my faith, In Jesus’ name, Amen
